Been working on the street and in the studio lately. You have to have a little bit of both, structure and freedom.

It’s been a while since I’ve updated my tumblr blog. This time away has been ripe with creativity, thoughtfulness and is producing some cool works.
My work is still #urban #streetphotography #portaiture #urban landscapes but there is a brighter touch to it, optimistic yet realistic in its depiction of Chicago life.
This photograph was taken at a local flower shop in Little Village.

Spring is in the air, the colors are ready to pop. Pilsen provides ample inspiration through food and vibrance. I love this city. Chicago ♥

One of my favorite things about working in Wicker Park, and across the arts communities in Chicago, is always being inspired by street art. Whether it involves graffiti, paintings, posters, stencils, or installation art guerilla style. There is always something to invoke a creative spirit, to question the boundaries of art and the place for it. Gallery or a street? Free or for profit?
