Quennect 4, Rockotitlan, Soulphonetics, Street Level YM, and All Eyes of On Art
present a day of art, music, food, dance, and awareness for a special cause. Rock The Block’s focus is to help raise awareness to Street-Level Youth Media (http://www.street-level.org/), an organization that educates Chicago’s urban youth in media arts and emerging technologies, providing a free, year round programming in a safe and positive environment.
Date: Saturday, August 11th
Place: Corners of N. Ashland Ave. and W. Wabansia Ave.
One of my favorite things about working in Wicker Park, and across the arts communities in Chicago, is always being inspired by street art. Whether it involves graffiti, paintings, posters, stencils, or installation art guerilla style. There is always something to invoke a creative spirit, to question the boundaries of art and the place for it. Gallery or a street? Free or for profit?
